Kenny, being the 11 year old boy that he is, seems to have a fascination is all things slimy, creepy, crawly and gross. However, even he seemed repulsed by the 6 inch (15 cm) long Banana Slugs that seem to favor our deck when the days are warm in Washington.

My knitter's gauge was too short at six inches so I grabbed the tape measure instead. Eight inches (20.3 centimeters)!
It appears size does matter.

Eeeeewwwww!!!! BTW, you seriously never want the horror that is stepping on one of these bad boys. Not that I know from personal experience... *shudder*
An EIGHT-INCH slug?! That is just unnecessary. I wonder what that would feel like if you stepped on it barefoot. Uggggh. (My toes are curling.)
Yeah, I'm thinkin' squishing a behemoth like that with a bare foot could be pretty gag-inducing. Gotta love the PNW in all it's disgusting faunal splendor.
Dayum! That is one honkin' big banana slug. I found one of those suckers right next to my doggies' water dish the other evening (the one on the back porch, not the one in the kitchen, thank God.) I pushed it back into the grass with a stick before it could take a swim!
That is one of the most horrifying things I've ever seen!
Ok, that is just gross - & my DH would have been out there with his trusty salt shaker in about 3 seconds - Pretty hard to find a live slug on our place LOL. T.
