The Endless Afghan - The Fourteenth Square

This square is the one I worked while on the road. The pattern is from The Great North American Afghan book. It is a combination of various Aran patterns which require careful concentration to avoid crossing cables the wrong way.
It also has lots and lots of bobbles which gives it a lot of texture. I was concerned that it was going to be slightly larger than the twelve inch square called for by the pattern but its final measurements was an acceptable 12 1/4 inches square. What a relief! I really did not want to re-knit it.

Oh, my that looks so complicated - but how pretty. I can hardly wait to see the finished afghan! What a treasure it will be - and many memories tied up in each square.

Your little road trip looks like it was fun - two years ago we drove from Washington down to the Sequoia National Park and went along the coast so we could see the coast redwoods too - they are such majestic trees. But we missed Eureka & Ferndale - looks like they are very interesting towns. Thanks for taking us along on your visit :-) T.

P.S. Your story of the rats you get gives me the heebie jeebies! - We had a rat in the house a couple of years ago (hmmm - wonder how that happened?) I knew it was a girl rat because she made a nest with all of my hot pads and filled it with Hershey's kisses...we ended up having to get a new range because she got into the old one and was munching on the wires - eek! What a mess.

A completed endless afghan is getting closer and closer. That's a beautiful square.

So will that 1/4 inch come be worked out somehow when you're sewing up? I know it isn't much, but I'm just curious how these things work.

It looks like an Aran sampler. That afghan is going to be a masterpiece. I'm glad I'm not the one who has to sew all those squares together, though!

Your square looks awesome, as always! I need to get back to work on mine, but I am distracted for the moment. Maybe once the rain settles in I will be up for it!
