Ravelry

There is a huge downside to Ravelry.

I started cataloging all of my stash and decided it would be easier if I had it all in one place.

Now, my husband Dan has never, ever, ever seen the sheer size my stash.......
He stood in shocked silence as he looked first at the piles of bright colored yarns waiting to be photographed.......

then slowly turned and looked at bags and bins stuffed full of twenty years of accumulated yarn acquisition.....
.........and finally ended with the stacks of roving waiting to be spun into yarn .

Poor Dan. He looks a bit shell shocked -- you know, that deer caught in the headlights look?

Which leads me to the question ---- Should I tell him that there is yet still more yarn in Washington?

That is hysterical.

Fortunately, my knitting obsession began only 2 years ago so the stash isn't so... what's the word... vast.

Yours is a work of Art and Dan can rest well in knowing that if (God Forbid) anything happened to you, there would be many blog friends to ease his stash burden.

Maybe it will be a while before you head north?? Give him some time to absorb the California stash.

I agree with Sophanne and uberstrickenfrau! When it comes to your man and your stash (in particular), probably best to leave that part alone for now...we wouldn't want to cause any more shock to his system right now! I say just combine it slowly later when you move, and he'll never be able to tell the difference :p

I've seen the pictures of your yarn trailer and I am still shocked. (Yes, folks, she has a separate trailer for her yarn in Washington.) Are you telling me there is MORE? Allow me to repeat: I am coming to visit and I am not leaving empty-handed.

He probably already guesses it anyway! It's your palette-and your art. Of COURSE you NEED to have a lot. It's not like you are not a master knitter or something!Anyway, we all have to do our parts to keep our favorite LYS in business!

Wow. Just, wow. I own a yarn store and am impressed by the immensity of your stash. I can only strive to your level of yarniness!

That is hysterical. I would NOT under any circumstances tell him about the other yarn stash. And you've given me an idea, 2 HOUSES!

Maybe it would help if you told Dan your stash isn't nearly as big as the Yarn Harlot's?

(or is it?)

Congratulations on your yarn COLLECTION. It is museum-worthy! I salute you!

It only took me about 4 hours to photograph my stash for Ravelry!
